Find Your Future

At St Catherine's College

St Catherine's is a Kindy to Year 12 co-educational College, established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1925. Our College has a very special place in the history of the Whitsundays, having served generations of families and growing over the decades to cater for each stage of your son or daughter's schooling.

Academic Excellence

Academic Excellence

At St Catherine’s Catholic College, each student leaves us supported by a Kindergarten to Year 12 educational journey that is focused on holistic development. Through diverse experiences both inside and outside of the classroom a St Catherine’s graduate is secure in their beliefs, values, virtues, relationships, character, and future pathway.

We offer a safe and secure environment that allows our students to develop independence and the necessary social, emotional, and personal skills needed to prepare them for the next step in their education journey.

We work to preserve a child’s sense of wonder and create a love of learning and cater to the learning needs of all students.

Catholic Life

Catholic Life

Our deep tradition of service to others began when the Mercy sisters established St Catherine’s Catholic College in Marathon Street behind the St Catherine’s Parish Church in 1925. Our Mercy Charism reminds us that ‘charity is our badge of honour’. Each year we offer a range of social justice activities that encourage our students to ‘walk in someone else’s shoes and serve others'. Our social justice program is rooted in our Mercy and Ignatian values of Compassion, Justice, Community, and Excellence, as our students learn to seek fairness for the common good.

Nurturing Community

Nurturing Community

Our students are regularly taken outside of their comfort zone, and challenged through experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. This occurs through service learning, our pastoral program, buddy care groups, retreats, overseas immersions, and our outdoor education program that begins in Year 4. The program is sequential in nature and strives to build on past experiences. These experiences inspire positive relationships which are integral to the wellbeing of self, community, and our natural world. Our program encourages students to step outside their comfort zone, redefine their personal possibilities, gain confidence and think critically while fostering a team ethic when working with others.

P-12 Culture

P-12 Culture

At St Catherine’s Catholic College, each student leaves us secure in the knowledge that they have been supported by a Kindergarten to Year 12 educational journey that is focused on holistic development. Through diverse experiences both inside and outside of the classroom, over a thirteen-year journey, the St Catherine’s graduate is secure in their beliefs, values, virtues, relationships, character, and their future pathway.

The St Catherine’s graduate has completed a study pathway that is reflective of their gifts, talents, and interests. They are self-reflective on who they are and through our social justice program rooted in our Mercy and Ignatian values of Compassion, Justice, Community, and Excellence. Throughout their senior schooling, our students develop to become critical and creative thinkers, as our teachers harness their natural curiosity, nurtured from the early years of schooling. Our students have experience in working with a broad range of technology, and through frequent collaborative learning experiences, they develop excellent communication skills.
