School Improvement Priorites

As a Catholic College, steeped in the Mercy tradition, we educate students to be strong in their faith, to serve others and to be active in their pursuit of knowledge in the spirit of St Catherine.

Our commitment to continuous improvement

As part of the School Renewal process, the college leadership team has developed an ongoing plan for continuous improvement. As a Catholic school, we remain dedicated to deepening our Catholic identity. Following a year of review, reflection and consultation with our community, we have identified the following key improvement priorities to guide us over the next four years.

Priorities across all Townsville Catholic schools

Enhancing Catholic School Identity
Our school will cultivate a rich, faith-filled educational experience grounded in the Catholic tradition, respectful dialogue and meaningful relationships. Through the Townsville Three Shifts Project, school leaders will strengthen our Catholic identity by supporting and empowering staff to deepen their faith formation and actively engage in the Catholic life and mission of the school.

Improving Literacy and Numeracy Proficiencies
Our school will strengthen evidence-based teaching practices grounded in the Science of Learning— based on research on how children best learn. Guided by the Learning and Teaching Cycle, our teachers will use strong data, curriculum, and assessment practices supported within a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) to deliver high-quality classroom teaching and targeted intervention, ensuring every student makes strong, measurable progress in literacy and numeracy.

Our school improvement priorities

The priorities below are specific to our school. We identified them through our School Renewal self-review, consultation, and discernment process, and they reflect the areas where our community believes sustained improvement will make the greatest difference for our students.
